Production Opportunities


String Dept - 3rdShift  

The String Packer position performs the packaging operation of string cheese, monitoring the machinery and ensuring quality of the product.  Specific duties include packaging string cheese into various package sizes, boxing, and palletizing.  Applicants must be able to work as part of a team in a changing work environment.  Physical requirements include lifting up to 30 pounds, frequent standing, lifting and stretching, frequent repetitive motion of hands (i.e. grasping, pinching, holding) and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-work environment.  This is a 3rd shift opportunity working Sun-Thurs, with shift starting at 11 pm and end time may vary based on production order.

Health and Safety Coordinator

At Burnett Dairy Cooperative, we don’t just make great cheese and provide agronomy services—we’re also committed to keeping our people safe. As the Health and Safety Coordinator, you’ll work alongside a fantastic team that values safety and a job well done.  The main job duties include:

  • Safety Leader: Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and programs that help keep our team safe.
  • Inspector Extraordinaire: Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Accident Investigator: Help investigate incidents and near misses, and offering recommendations for improvements.
  • Trainer: Coordinate and deliver health and safety training sessions that engage employees at all levels.
  • Record Keeper: Maintain accurate records, from safety data sheets to lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Trend Tracker: Stay ahead of the game by keeping up with the latest in safety regulations and best practices.

In order to be successful in this position, we're looking for applicants with these skills and abilities:

  • A high school diploma or GED (bonus points for a degree or experience in health and safety).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A keen eye for details and the ability to spot potential safety risks.
  • Strong communication skills—you can talk safety in a way that everyone understands.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks like a pro.
  • Positive attitude and problem-solving ninja.

Current Openings at our Cady Cheese location in Wilson, WI:


Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift

 The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the production of products to ensure product quality, crew safety, and production efficiencies are being met.  Other duties and responsibilities include; production scheduling, quality control, knowledge of all machinery, coordination of staff schedules, training, coaching and department productivity.  Must be mobile and able to direct a team in a changing work environment.  This is a working supervisor position so working on the production floor is required.  The job requirements for this position include the capability to lift/push/pull/stack up to 60 lbs., stand on feet for long periods of time, the ability to be a licensed forklift operator, and have regular and dependable attendance.  This is a 2nd shift supervisor position working 2 pm - 12 am on a 4 – 10’s shift with availability to be on call.  Occasional weekends and holidays as workload demands. To be successful as a supervisor, we're looking for candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills and provide effective leadership for growth and development.  We are looking for candidates that have at least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience, food industry experience preferred, and excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills. This is a great position for someone that wants to expand on their supervisory skills and grow into a strong leader.

Maintenance Technician (PM Shift)  

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position performs multiple maintenance duties within the factory and grounds. Employees are required to perform maintenance and repair on machinery, as well as, welding, electrical, fabricating and mechanical duties. Preferred candidates should have 

  • Technical degree or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics maintenance
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), PLC programming and computer operation
  • Knowledgeable in fabrication and welding
  • Knowledgeable of electronics and trouble-shooting of electronics
  • Two years of maintenance and/or maintaining food service equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lock out/tag out procedures, and confined space

Applicants must be reliable and able to troubleshoot and work independently in a fast-paced working environment. The schedule for this position is on a rotational schedule of 2/2/3 from 6:00p-6:00a.  Overtime and alternate days may be required based on workload. If you are diligent and thorough in your work, are self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and possess the skills we require to be successful in this position, please apply today!
