Maintenance Technician/Engineer – 2nd Shift
Burnett Dairy is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician/Engineer to join our dedicated maintenance team. This role is essential to keeping our production facility and equipment operating safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.
As a member of our maintenance department, you’ll perform a wide range of duties throughout the plant and grounds, including machinery repair, electrical work, welding, fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to a high-performing team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and installation tasks as needed
- Support robotics and automation equipment (preferred)
- Complete preventive maintenance and long-term maintenance projects
- Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
- Work independently to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently

🌙 Lead Maintenance Engineer – 3rd Shift

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, HVAC, boiler, and NH3 refrigeration systems

Performing welding, fabrication, and equipment maintenance

Completing and overseeing preventive maintenance to keep the plant running smoothly

Using our maintenance software to track work orders and equipment history

Supporting safety programs including LOTO, Confined Space, and GMP requirements

Burnett Dairy Cooperative is currently looking to hire full-time production employees to work in various manufacturing departments of our cheese production facility. All applicants must be 18 years old to apply. Multiple positions and shifts are currently available and listed below.
Makeroom Operator PM Shift
🧀✨ Help Us Make the Magic of Cheese! At Burnett Dairy Cooperative, the Makeroom is where all the cheesy magic happens, and we’re looking for hardworking, reliable, and motivated people to join our team as Makeroom Operators!
If you’re someone who loves learning, growing, and being part of a tradition that goes back generations, this is your chance to play a hands-on role in crafting world-class cheese.
🔧 What you’ll do:

Monitor the cheesemaking process (you’ll be part scientist, part cheesemaker!)

Check temps, pH, and acid levels

Operate production machinery

🧀🎶 Pack the Cheese, Join the Team! Looking for a night shift where you can be part of something truly string-tacular? Burnett Dairy Cooperative is hiring 3rd Shift String Packers to help us package the cheese everyone loves — our famous string cheese!
✨ What you’ll do:

Package string cheese into a variety of sizes (snack packs to family packs!)

Box, palletize, and get product ready to ship out

💪 What it takes:

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

Comfortable with standing, lifting, stretching, and repetitive hand motions (grasping, pinching, holding — basically cheese wrangling!)

String Extruder Operator – 3rd Shift
Are you looking for a hands-on role where you can take pride in creating one of our most beloved products...string cheese? Join our team as a String Extruder Operator and play a key part in transforming fresh, quality ingredients into the delicious snacks enjoyed by families everywhere.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating and monitoring the string cheese production machinery, ensuring each product meets our high standards of safety and quality. You’ll set up and sanitize equipment before each production run, then dismantle and thoroughly clean the machines after the shift. Keeping your work area clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation protocols is essential. You’ll also accurately document all production details to support our food safety and quality programs.

🔧 Performing maintenance and repair duties on machinery, welding, electrical, fabricating, and mechanical systems
🔧 Keeping the factory and grounds in top-notch condition
🔧 Ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently using predictive and productive maintenance processes
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Technical Know-How – A degree or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics maintenance
✅ Hands-On Experience – Experience with CMMS, PLC programming, and computer operation
✅ Welding & Fabrication Skills – Ability to work with metal and perform necessary repairs
✅ Electronics Knowledge – Troubleshooting and repairing electronic systems
✅ Food Industry Maintenance Experience – At least two years working with food service equipment

Milk Intake / Lab Assistant 🥛🧪
The Milk Intake / Lab Assistant directs all liquid inventory processes (Milk, Cream, Whey, WPC, and Permeate) to ensure product quality, crew safety, and efficiency. This position includes truck scheduling, quality control, and deep knowledge of intake equipment. You will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the department and the accurate recording of all production data for regulatory inspections.
📋 Job Requirements

Logistics: Receive and direct incoming milk trucks. 🚛

Quality Control: Collect and test milk samples for antibiotics, acid, and pH levels following strict policies. 🔬

Documentation: Record all data and activities on necessary forms accurately. ✍️

Safety: Inspect milk for non-conformities and report any deviations to the Supervisor.

Monitoring: Oversee silo activity and respond to changes as needed.

Sanitation: Maintain a sanitary intake area and operate CIP (Clean-In-Place) equipment. 🧼
